10 challenges that I faced in acquiring English

Hye guys!!

Nice to see you again. Are you feeling well right now? I hope you guys are in the pink of health. This time, I am going to share with you about my challenges or problems that I faced through out these days in acquiring English language. Arghh!! Actually I am not good enough in English. Everyday when I was trying to speak in English, I felt something was preventing me from doing it. This situation really ruin my mood.

One of my challenges is lack of confident. As students, we have a lot of activities, assignments or presentations that required us to speak English in front of the audiences. We have to speak well and confidently in order to have better results. But for me, when I am standing in front of the audiences I feel so shy. I don't have enough confident to speak English in front of them because I think that if I talk wrongly, the people will laugh at me. That is the embarrassing moment for me.

For your information, I am lacking in vocabulary. Sometimes when I speak English, I have sentences in my mind but I am missing two or three important vocabulary words. So, it become difficult for me to say what I am thinking. Then, I also poor in pronunciation. When I read or talk something loudly, my pronunciation seem a little bad. Sometimes people did not understand to what I am saying and they will ask me to tell them again. It keeps bothering me. Plus, I am not major in grammar...huhuhu...sad of me...

Besides, for the certain words they have different meanings. For example, run. My cat loves to run about in the park. The word run there means moves quickly with legs but in certain sentences, run brings out the different meaning like manages. She runs a very successful business.

In addition, there are some people think that I am arrogant person when speaking in English. They said that I want to show off  with my ability..arhh.. that was so frustrating having these kind of people nowadays. That's why I think it is better if I just speak Malay to everyone.

Besides, there are lots of slang and colloquial language used when English is spoken. It is varies from country to another country. So, when I watch movies I can't understand well what they are saying.

Scare of making mistakes is also one of the challenges that I faced in acquiring English. I was so scared to speak in English because I know that I am not good enough in English. Surely, I will make a lot of mistakes in my conversation..hahaha..so, the best way for me is just talk in Malay to my friends and also with my English teacher.

Sometimes, I am bad in spelling the words. At school, when the teacher asked me to write an essay, there must be spelling errors. Although I often use that words in conversation, I did not remember how to write them correctly...hahaha...so ridiculous, right??

Last but not least is homophones. I often confused with the words that are different in meaning but similar in pronunciation. For the ones that do not used to these words surely will get into problem when speaking. All of you have experienced this problem before, right?? same goes to me!!

Thus, I should do a lot of practices to solve my problems. I really hope that someday, I will be able to speak English fluently.

The New Me

Hye everyone!!

Nice to meet all of you. Actually this is my first time having a blog, so I do not have any idea to write a post. But I will try my best to make all of you interested to read my post. First and foremost, let me introduce myself. I am pretty sure that some of you already know me well. For the ones who do not know me yet just feel free to read my story. My actual name is Mas Muharami binti Zulkifle. To make it easier, just call me Mas. I was born on 9 May 1997 at Hospital Sultanah Nurzahirah Kuala Terengganu. My mother had once told me that among my siblings, I was the one who born late from the due date and because of that, my mother was having difficulties while delivered me. When I was hearing to that story, I felt so touching. That memorable story really make me proud of my mother. As a mother, she was willing to sacrifice herself just to make sure that I can be born to this wonderful world.

I have a lovely and caring parent. My father’s name is Zulkifle bin Ali and he works as a rubber tapper. My mother’s name is Kholeeyoh E-sor and she is just a housewife. Maybe my family and I do not live rich like other family but we are so happy. We care and love to each other.

For your information, I have eight siblings and I am the fourth one. The oldest is a girl and she got married about four years ago. She already has a son whose is three years old and her son is very naughty that can make others feel so mad with him. I still remembered when he was two years old, he bit my finger until bleeding. I was so angry then I scolded him. He cried so loud. After that, my sister scolded me back for what had I done. Remembering those moments really make me laugh because of my ‘immature action’…… Hahaha…..

My second and third siblings are also girls. Now, the second one is working as a nurse at Hospital Sungai Buloh, Selangor. Anybody who is interested to know my beautiful sister can just go there and meet her….. Hahaha…... But please bear in your mind that she is a fierce girl. She will easily get mad although it just a simple mistake. The third one is still studying at Kota Bharu, Kelantan taking Early Childhood Education course.

As you already know, I am the fourth. Now, I am studying at Tatiuc, Kemaman and I am doing the preparation to go to overseas in medical course for one year. Actually, my ambition is I want to be a doctor that are specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaechology. It is because I love to help people and I very love kids. Besides, nowadays our country is lack of woman doctor that are specialised in that field. So, if I can catch my dream, I can lessen the burden of that problem. Let me tell you a little bit about my result in UPSR, PMR and SPM. I am telling you these not to show off myself but just as motivation to the readers. In 2009, I got 4A 1B in my UPSR. That day, I was so sad and shocked because my teachers, parent and also me thought that I will get 5A’s. I was so down because of my result but my parents always gave me support and advices. They told me that it was okay because maybe it was not my lucky day. All I had to do was not gave up and kept trying. Remember Allah always and keep in touch with Him. In Shaa Allah, He will give me something better than I wished. After that, I struggled in my studies until I got 8A’s in PMR and 10A’s in SPM. After I got my result, I was so happy and grateful. Lastly, all of my hardworks are worth. My parent, teachers and friends were so proud of me. I could not express that moment in words on how happy I am. My friend always told me that ‘there’s no one can change yourself unless you change it by yourself’ and that phrase really inspired me a lot.

Next, proceed to my fifth sibling. My fifth sibling is a girl which is 16 years old and she is studying at SMK Tengku Mizan Zainal Abidin together with my sixth sibling which is a boy. He is 15 years old. At school, I often heard some gossips that there were a few girls trying to flirt with him. They once told me that my younger brother is so handsome and that make me feel disgusting…‘eee yulks!!’…. But it is okay, maybe his handsomeness comes from his sister… Hahaha…..

Then, my seventh and eighth siblings are still child. They are eight and five years old. They are studying at SK Maras. I was so grateful to have such this big and happy family. I always hope that our happiness will be last longer hereafter. Amiinn. I think this is enough for my first post. For the next post I will share about another story. So, I hope all of you will enjoy my first post and wait for my another post. Bye guys!!
